Privacy Policy

How The Designers Directory collects, uses and protects your information.

Last updated: 10 September 2026

The Designers Directory ("we", "us") operates thedesignersdirectory.com. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@thedesignersdirectory.com and we will answer plainly.

What we collect

  • Information you give us. Your name, email, phone number, company and anything else you type into a contact form or a booking, including when you schedule a call through our Calendly link.
  • Usage data. Pages visited, time on site, referring source, approximate location, browser and device type. Collected automatically through analytics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. Small files used to make the site work, measure traffic and, where you consent, support advertising.

We do not collect payment card details on this website. Invoicing and payment are handled separately through third-party processors.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and schedule calls
  • To deliver work you have engaged us for
  • To understand how the site performs and improve it
  • To measure and improve our advertising
  • To send updates if you have asked for them, which you can stop at any time
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Only service providers who help us run the business, and only what they need. These currently include analytics, advertising, hosting, email and scheduling providers such as Google, Meta and Calendly. Each processes data under its own terms. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies for essential site functions, analytics, and advertising measurement. Analytics and advertising cookies are used where you consent. You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.

We run advertising on Google and Meta, which may use cookies or pixels to measure whether an ad led to a visit or enquiry. You can control ad personalisation through your Google Ad Settings and your Meta account settings.

Your rights

Under the Colorado Privacy Act and comparable laws, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct it if it is wrong
  • Ask us to delete it
  • Opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data
  • Receive a copy in a portable format
  • Appeal if we decline a request

To exercise any of these, email hello@thedesignersdirectory.com. We will respond within the timeframe the law requires and may need to verify your identity first.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data is kept while we are in contact and for a reasonable period afterwards. Client records are kept for as long as the law and our accounting obligations require. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our analytics platform. When data is no longer needed, we delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Our site links to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we would encourage you to read their policies before providing information.

Changes

We may update this policy. Any changes appear on this page with a revised date at the top. Material changes will be made obvious.
